The Team

Born into a personal journey that created my purpose.

I grew up around family sensitivities and special needs; personally witnessing the emotional impact of being misunderstood or ostracized

and feeling the experiences  surrounding burn victim care and family hardships. I learned  firsthand how hurtful insensitivity can be.  Unknowingly, as a child I quickly developed a deep compassion for people who seemed to be forgotten, overlooked, or unsupported.

Which led me into a lifetime career of 31 years in public, community, and service through preventive screenings, education, outreach, and support. During my career and service,  this is where the rubber met the road:  empathetic for the real-life struggles families face daily because dealing with people is

moved by the heart; a true heart for humanity! Yes, that’s ME.  “Make it Matter, to Make it Happen” became MY mission.  I was soon recognized as a trusted and compassionate leader.

GOD had it all lined up, or should I say “planned” (Jeremiah 29:11). GOD ordered my steps to the Greater Pure Light Church (Dr. Darryl W. Broussard), serving as Health Ministry Leader for 20+ years serving and leading with compassion, integrity, and consistency; helping bridge faith, health, and community care together.  Reminding others that kindness changes lives, encouraging communities to lead with compassion.

Hence, community Partnerships & Advocacy became my pathway partnering with a host of agencies, serving on community committee boards, advisory boards, and outreach initiatives, connecting families, seniors, and individuals with vital resources; building relationships that strengthen communities. Advocating for compassion and dignity to leave audiences with hope and inspiration.  Working Together to Serve Others:  “People need people; and some more than others.”

I serve because no one is above me, and my heart compels me to help those in need. In a society driven by greed and selfishness, the voiceless and underprivileged require an advocate. It’s challenging to see people struggling, but if I can offer assistance, I feel fulfilled. Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances place individuals in sensitive situations, and they need a “pick-me-up” to lift their spirits and instill hope. My purpose and mission are to help, as the need arise. My prayer is that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, will be treated fairly.

I serve the community because service is more than giving time—it’s about creating meaningful impact. I believe in showing up for others, building connections, and contributing in ways that make a lasting difference. Through service, I have the opportunity to support, inspire, and uplift those around me while helping strengthen the community for today and future generations. True impact comes from investing in people and being intentional about making a positive difference wherever I can.

I serve because I believe we are all created with purpose and called to lead with kindness, compassion, and love. I believe even the smallest act of kindness can change a life, and every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and treated with dignity and respect.

Serving through this organization allows me to make a meaningful impact not only in the lives of individuals, but throughout the community by spreading hope, 

Growing up in foster care, I often experienced what it felt like to go without the care, compassion, and support every child deserves. Those experiences shaped my heart and gave me a deep passion for serving others with kindness, understanding, and empathy. I know what it feels like to need someone to truly care, and that is what inspires me to make a difference in the lives of others through healthcare, community outreach, and advocacy. My goal is to be the kind of support I once needed, while creating safe, uplifting spaces where people feel seen, valued, and loved. Through every opportunity to serve, I hope to bring healing, hope, and compassion.

 I choose to serve because I have a passion for helping others, making a positive difference, and supporting people as they work toward their goals. Serving my community allows me to build meaningful relationships, uplift those in need, and contribute to making our community a better place for everyone.

I strive to show kindness, patience, and compassion to every person I encounter. I believe in a “each one, teach one” mindset—using my time, talents, and experiences to encourage, support, and empower others. Serving is not just something I do; it is a privilege and a purpose that brings me great joy.
